Cindy Harrington of the University of Maine softball team has been selected as the North Atlantic Conference Pitcher of the Week. The senior from Lexington, Mass., allowed five earned runs in 67 innings (0.52 ERA) and struck out 27 to lead the Black Bears to a 3-3 record last week.

Harrington’s 131 strikeouts this season leave her only 21 shy of the school season mark held by Lynn Hearty Coutts.
