In a story on the Maine Yankee nuclear power plant that appeared in the Bangor Daily News weekend edition, reference was made to an incident involving 10 students from the University of Southern Maine who were exposed to rubidium gas while touring Maine Yankee last October.
The rubidium gas was released during a liquid-waste removal process the plant performs to remove contaminants from the system, according to Marshall Murphy, a spokesman for Maine Yankee.
