ELLSWORTH — Firefighters were called to one of Ellsworth’s busiest intersections Wednesday morning when smoke was seen pouring from the door of a home at 99 Oak St.
Arriving at 10:30 a.m., members of the Ellsworth Fire Department feared someone might be trapped on the second floor of the house near the corner of Oak and Main streets. Within minutes they determined that the home was empty, and the fire was contained in the kitchen area.
