DYER BROOK – Senior righthander Jody Brown tossed a three-hitter in five innings to lead Southern Aroostook past rival Central Aroostook 12-0 in high school softball action Wednesday.
Brown struck out six and walked one while improving to 10-0.
Jana Walker tripled, singled twice and drove in two runs for the winners. Brown chipped in with a double, single and two RBIs while Janet Corneil had three singles.
Three players each notched a single for CAHS of Mars Hill.

Angie Taggett knocked in two runs on a single and a triple for PVHS, and Tina Smith scored two runs with a single and a double.

At Presque Isle, Tracy Richardson shut out Fort Kent over five innings, allowing three hits while striking out five and walking two to lead the host Wildcats to victory.
Nicole Gamblin knocked in two runs with a double and two singles, and Heather Norsworthy added two RBIs on three base hits to spark Presque Isle.
Becky Duston drove in two runs on three hits for the Warriors.

At Harrington, Kelly Dow was tough on the Knights at the plate and on the mound to lead the Blue Devils in the rain-soaked contest.
Dow ripped a triple and two singles, good for three RBIs, and Jessica Crossman added a double and single. As a pitcher, Dow struck out nine and walked none.
For the Knights, Angie Curtis hit a two-run single and Jen Look had two singles.

Lori Morrill knocked in a run on two singles for Van Buren.
The game was called in the fifth inning when a Van Buren player collided with catcher Doak at home plate, injuring herself and leaving the Crusaders with only eight players.
