Bapst rallies past Tigers

ROCKLAND – Joel Perry singled home Eric Soucie with the winning run in the top of the ninth inning as John Bapst of Bangor pulled out a wild, 11-10 high school baseball victory over Rockland here Thursday.

Perry had three hits and two RBIs for the Crusaders. Matt DeRaspe slugged a three-run home run, a double and a single, while relief winner Jeremy Spencer had a triple, double and single good for three RBIs.

Rockland’s Chris Seavey had sent the game into extra innings in the seventh, hitting a two-run triple and scoring on a passed ball. He finished with three hits and three RBIs.

Darren Kenney, Brooks Stevens and Mike Tolman contributed three hits apiece, Cam Brown and Clay Fowlie two hits each for the Tigers.

At Bangor, the Rams got a solid pitching performance from Andy Robichaud on their way to their ninth victory of the season.

Robichaud struck out seven, walked one and gave up three hits. T.J. True ripped a two-out single in the second before Mark McEwen doubled him home with the eventual winning run.

Danny Leadbetter had a double for the Warriors.

At Millinocket, Jason Cyr pitched a four-hitter, struck out 10, and walked three to help lead host Stearns to the win over Mount Desert Island.

John Montgomery had two singles, a double, and one RBI. Brian Jordan had two singles and two RBIs, and Dave McLaughlin added two singles and an RBI.

Pat Mosley doubled and singled for the Trojans.

At Thorndike, Cory MacDonald scattered six hits and Justin Gushee slapped four singles as Camden-Rockport cruised past Mount View.

MacDonald helped his own cause with a triple and a single.

Lewis Henry doubled and singled for the Mustangs.

At Bangor, Becca Kinney tossed a three-hitter and went 4-for-4 with a triple, double, two singles and five RBIs to pace the Ram attack.

Kristy Bowden had a single and a double, Jamie Owens had two singles and Julie Murray had an RBI double.

For the Warriors, Millie MacDonald, Hope Kuno and Caryn Carnabuci each had singles.

At Thorndike, Ginny Bartlett ripped a three-run single to trigger a nine-run fifth inning, as the Windjammers from Camden battled back from an 8-2 deficit for the win.

Angela Pease, Amanda Lowe and Tracy Armentrout hit three singles apiece for the winners.

Shannon Foss sparked Mount View with two singles and three RBIs, while Laura Haas, Jess Hayes and Kristi Fuller each stroked a double and a single.

At Millinocket, Shannon Boynton drove in Kara Moore with a single to snap a 4-4 tie in the bottom of the sixth inning and lift host Stearns to a 5-4 high school softball victory over Mount Desert Island here Thursday.

Robin Cyr led the winners with two singles and two runs scored, while Moore added an RBI single to go along with her game-winning run scored. Sara Kittrick scattered five hits for the win.

The Trojans of Mount Desert were led by Cathy Fischer, who slugged an RBI triple and a single.
