Graduation ’95> Gardiner Area High School

Ellen Batchelder, daughter of Charles and Eloise Batchelder of Gardiner, has been named valedictorian of the class of 1995 at Gardiner Area High School. She was a member of the French and Drama clubs, math team, Gardiner Scholars, Gardiner-Hyde Program, student council, girls chorus, band, varsity girls soccer, swimming, track and junior varsity soccer. She plans to study biology at Brandeis University in Waltham, Mass.

Salutatorian is Cara Mathews, daughter of Paul and Sharon Mathews of Randolph. She is senior class president and was a member of student council, Students Aware of Bias, Exchange, Future Medical and Spanish clubs, Gardiner Scholars, Gardiner-Hyde Program, math team, jazz band, band, varsity field hockey and basketball and junior varsity field hockey, basketball and softball. She plans to attend Dartmouth College and major in liberal arts.

Gardiner Area High School graduation will be held at 6:30 p.m. Saturday, June 10, at the Civic Center in Augusta.
