Dexter Regional High School Principal Bruce Ives has announced that Noah Schottenfield is valedictorian and Carrie Ives is salutatorian for the class of 1995.
Schottenfeld is the son of Danny and Marilyn Schottenfeld of Dexter. He is president of the class, treasurer of student council and vice president of French Club. He was a member of National Honor Society, the Varsity and Library clubs, Scott Hi-Q team and French Honor Society. He also was captain of the soccer and tennis teams and played varsity basketball. He was a representative at Dirigo Boys State, received the Principal’s Leadership Award and MEA Outstanding Achievement recognition in math, read and writing. He plans to major in mathematics and the sciences at Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
Ives served as president of French Club and band and librarian for the chorus. She was a member of National Honor Society, French Honor Society, the Scott Hi-Q and math teams, jazz band, jazz and show choirs, girls ensemble and Spanish Club. She also had lead roles in the musicals, “Annie” and “Guys and Dolls.” She is a National Merit Scholarship Finalist, was a representative to Girls State and the National Youth Leaderhip Conference in Washington, D.C. She received the Discover Card Silver and MPA Principal’s awards and Bausch and Lomb and Xerox scholarships. She is the daughter of Bruce and Nancy Ives of Dexter, and plans to attend the University of Rochester and major in biological sciences and psychology.
Graduation exercises will be held at 3 p.m. Sunday, June 11, in the DHS Gymnasium.
