Orono trio on Shrine squad

Eric Main, Matt Nevells and Robbie Pyle, who helped lead Orono High School to the state Class B football championship last fall, will be among the players in pads for the East squad in the sixth annual Maine Shrine Lobster Bowl Classic at Waterhouse Field in Biddeford on Saturday, July 22. Game time at Waterhouse Field is 7 p.m.

The game showcases Maine’s best players who have completed their high school senior years.

The West has won the previous five games, including last year’s come-from-behind 31-18 victory.

The East players will live and train at Maine Central Institute in Pittsfield during Lobster Bowl week before the all-star game. They will join their West counterparts in visiting the Shriners Hospital for Children in Springfield, Mass.

All proceeds from the Lobster Bowl support Shriners Hospitals for Children. Nineteen orthopaedic and three burns hospitals for children up to 18 years old are operated by the Shriners of North America.
