COCOA BEACH, Fla. – Teams from Texas, New Jersey and Florida have handed the Central Maine All-Stars three defeats through Monday’s preliminary round at the American Athletic Union National Championships.

The 13- and under boys basketball team lost to Texas 82-57, and New Jersey 5-28 Sunday. Florida beat the team 62-49 Monday.

Noah McPike of Lincoln led all scorers against Texas with 13 points and two assists, and Etna’s Jeff White added 11 points and eight rebounds. Against New Jersey, White scored 11 points and grabbed nine rebounds, while Ken Roberts of Brooks scored six.

Monday, White led the team with 20 points and 12 rebounds, while McPike added six points and four rebounds.

The team plays Oklahoma Tuesday night.
