South Portland eliminated Belfast, 9-8, from the state Little League tournament for players 9-10 on Tuesday.

In state Little League softball tournament action, Sanford defeated Old Town 14-3 and Cape Elizabeth beat Augusta 8-3 in the playoffs for 9-10-year-olds.

Damariscotta eliminated Kennebunk 7-6 and Windham defeated Augusta East 7-1 in the division for softball players 11-12.

Scarborough eliminated Saco 7-6 in state Senior League softball action, setting up today’s game of Augusta East vs. Scarborough at 5:30 p.m. in Winslow.

A state champion was crowned in Senior Little League as Auburn defeated Falmouth 4-1 in Bangor.

In 9-10 Little League, undefeated Brewer will play South Portland today at 5:30 p.m. in Portland.

In 9-10 softball, Augusta will take on Sanford today at 5:30 p.m. in Winslow.

In 11-12 softball, Damariscotta will play Augusta East today at 5 p.m. in Winslow.

LL Baseball 9-10

South Portland 9, Belfast 8

At Portland, a one-out single by Andy Wood scored the tying run and a throwing error allowed Devon Coyne to score the winning run.

For Belfast, Jeff Parenteau doubled and singled for two RBIs and Steve Littlefield added an RBI single.

At Portland, Kristy Cochin and Jessica Laroche combined to throw a no-hitter over four innings for Sanford, striking out seven and walking five.

Elizabeth Soucier, Lisa Fuller, and Melanie Cox all scored for Old Town.

At Portland, Andrea Skillings singled twice to drive in two runs for Cape Elizabeth, and Allie Knight added another RBI on two base hits.

Sarah Morang knocked in a run for Augusta East with three singles.

Damariscotta 7, Kennebunk 6

At Winslow, Liz Giberson scored on a wild pitch with nobody out in the top of the seventh to give Damariscotta the lead and eventual win.

Megan Hervochaur hit a three run triple for Damariscotta.

For Kennebunk, Dana Spencer, Ashley Bossie, Linda Fernandez, and Elizabeth Phanner all singled.

At Winslow, Darcey Lee gave up one run on one hit, striking out four and walking two to lead Windham to victory.

Kahler Dowling had an RBI triple for Windham.

Katlyn Godfrey hit a three run triple for Augusta East, and Keriann Brooks singled twice.
