Public invited to join GOP Katahdin cruise

GREENVILLE — A fun time will be had by all who join Piscataquis and Penobscot County Republican Committee chairmen Duane Lander and Thomas Minogue on board the cruise steamboat Katahdin, at 5:30 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 9, on Moosehead Lake.

The cruise and supper are free, part of a campaign to allow the public to meet their representatives.

Guests will include U.S. Rep. Jim Longley Jr., reporting on Washington; state Sen. Steve Hall, master of ceremonies; Mary Adams, Susan Collins, both former gubernatorial candidates; House Minority Leader Walter Whitcomb; state Reps. Ruel Cross, Richard Campbell, Priscilla Lane, Lisa Lumbra, Debra Plowman, William Reed, Richard Stone, Donald Strout and Robert Yackobitz; and retired County Commissioner Joseph Morin.

Hamburgers, hot dogs, corn, salads, strawberry shortcake and punch will be served at 5:30 p.m., and the cruise will depart at 6:30 p.m.
