The big money will be at Speedway 95 in Hermon Saturday as the leading sportsman drivers compete in a 35-lap A&D Tire Sportsman Dash for Cash.
The winner will take home $1,000 in the night’s featured race. Racing at the one-third mile track will begin at 6:30 p.m. Saturday. The night will also include the Speedway’s featured races from last Saturday that were postponed when a dense fog rolled over the raceway.
Oxford Plains Speedway and Unity Raceway will host full racing cards on Friday and Saturday nights, respectively. Unity will start at 7 p.m.
The American-Candian Tour’s pro-stock racers will continue their swing through the Maritime provinces with the STP 150 at Sanair Super Speedway in St. Pie, Quebec, Sunday.
Unity racer Ralph Nason rebounded from an 18th place, problem-plagued Cellularland 150 at Halifax’s Scotia SpeedWorld last Friday to win Sunday’s Maritime 150 at New Brunswick International Speedway in Fredericton.
The veteran driver had been winless since the early part of the season, but he beat out Tracy Gordon of Strong, Maine, for the victory.
The win closes the gap between Nason and ACT points leader Brad Leighton of Center Harbor, N.H., to two points going into the last third of the ACT calendar.
Nason has accumulated 842 points to Leighton’s 844 earned in Leighton’s five wins in 11 starts.
