PORTLAND – The Portland Sea Dogs placed pitcher Andy Larkin on the disabled list Sunday with elbow problems.

Larkin will go to Florida to be examined by the Marlins’ medical staff and then go home for the season. He ends the season with a 1-2 record and 3.38 ERA in 40 innings.

Bryan Ward (5-1, 2.88) has been called up from the Marlins’ Single-A club in Brevard County, Fla. to take Larkin’s spot.
