ROCKLAND — Don’t put on that pancake makeup just yet.
The carnival on the public landing that was scheduled to be part of the filming of Steven King’s novel “Thinner,” has been canceled, the Rockland-Thomaston Chamber of Commerce announced on Thursday.
The public had been invited to attend the carnival and be part of the movie production on Sept. 27-30. Proceeds from the carnival were to be donated to the Chamber building fund.
Chamber Director Gil Merriam announced Thursday that the production schedule has been changed. It is not known now whether the carnival scenes will be rescheduled, or just dropped, Merriam said.
But the producers of the film made a donation to the building fund, Merriam reported.
The production of the movie will continue at local scenes for several weeks.
