BANGOR — A 23-year-old bicyclist was listed in serious condition Sunday night after colliding with a car the day before.
Robert Morris of Bangor was trying to cross Pearl Street on his bike Saturday evening when he collided with a car driven by 36-year-old Darwin Morse. Both men live on Pearl Street.
According to a police report, Morse was driving down Pearl Street but had stopped to allow some children on bicycles to cross. As Morse continued to drive, Morris apparently left the sidewalk and tried to ride across as well, according to the report.
Morse’s vision was partially obscured by cars legally parked along the road, the report said. Morris hit the side of Morse’s 1988 Dodge sedan and landed on the windshield.
Morris, who suffered head and facial injuries, was transported to Eastern Maine Medical Center.
