UNITY – Former track champion Larry Pottle of Benton won his second race of the season at Unity Raceway Sunday afternoon, as he took the lead from the outside pole and led all but four circuits of the 35-lap Late Model Sportsman feature.

Pottle’s Thunderbird gave way to Albion’s Matt Lee halfway through the main event, but the Benton driver, who hadn’t won a race since June 3, took command for good on the 19th lap. Steve Nelson of Albion captured second place with Lee, Duane Seekins of Stockton Springs and Don Alexander Jr. of Carmel finishing up the top five.

WINTERPORT – Mike Jordan of Ellsworth took over the points lead from Lubec’s Jerry Hatch in the fourth round of competition. Justin Boudreau of Hampden took second place and bumped Hatch into third place at the end of the day after the two drivers engaged in a runoff.

Steve Allen of Lewiston won the final motorcycle points lead.
