Lewiston — Pauline Fournier of Saints Peter and Paul Parish, Lewiston, was chosen from 13 nominees to receive the second annual Catholic Charities Maine Bishop Amedee Proulx Memorial Award for outstanding social service to the community.

Fournier has devoted more than 50 years of service to individuals, families and organizations. The presentation will be made Friday, Oct. 13 during a daylong conference on Intergenerational Programming, the goal of which is to reverse negative attitudes about age and ease feelings of isolation and uselessness many elderly people experience.

For information about the Proulx award luncheon and the conference, contact Catholic Charities Maine Central Services at 781-8550 or 1-800-781-8550.
