ORONO – Junior left winger Barry Clukey has officially withdrawn from the University of Maine, according to university spokesman Joe Carr.

Clukey left the Black Bears hockey team after exchanging words with Coach Shawn Walsh during last Friday night’s shootout against the University of New Hampshire.

Clukey, the Waterville High School graduate who owns the nation’s schoolboy scoring record with 356 points, recorded 16 goals and 18 assists in 74 games in his abbreviated Maine career.
