Tower’s 24 powers UMM past Thomas

MACHIAS – Becky Tower scored a game-high 24 points and also pulled down 12 rebounds to lead the unbeaten University of Maine-Machias to a 72-57 women’s basketball victory over Thomas College Monday night.

Arlene Wright and Ann-Marie Cochrane contributed 15 points apiece and Janice Alexander tossed in 14 for the Clippers.

Leann Tarr’s 14 points, Angie Ramos’ 13, and Karen Burdin’s 10 points paced the Terriers of Waterville.
