Those efforts cost the taxpayers many thousands of dollars, but I don’t recall any complaints about the costs or the merits. People were merely exercising their rights under the law.
Now that the United Bikers of Maine have exercised their rights under the law by asking for a re-count, the anti-choice people have become born again fiscal conservatives.
Do we support the democratic process only when it serves our needs? Let’s hope not. Rep. Royce Perkins Penobscot
