State Rep. Hugh A. Morrison of Bangor urges parents and students to use the New England Board of Higher Education’s Regional Student Program to reduce college tuition costs.
The program provides for reduced tuition at out-of-state public colleges and universities within New England when students pursue certain programs not offered in Maine.
The program may reduce tuition cost by more than half the usual amount charged students from other states. In 1994-95, 628 Maine residents each saved an average of $4,244 on a year’s tuition. Total savings to students from Maine was more than $2.6 million.
Information on the program is available at libraries, high school guidance offices, or from Morrison at 942-4137.
