Councilors assigned to committees

BANGOR — Assignments for city committees have been made for 1996. Appointments of city councilors made by Mayor Marshall Frankel are:

Ad hoc sewer committee: Timothy Woodcock, chairman; Don Soucy, Charles Sullivan.

Airport committee: Gerard Baldacci, chairman; David Leen, James Tyler. Meetings once a month at Bangor Interna- tional Airport.

Bangor Area Comprehensive Traffic Study: Tyler.

Bangor Center Management: Sullivan.

Bangor Convention and Visitors Bureau: Christopher Popper.

Bass Park committee: Charles Sullivan, chairman; Patricia Blanchette, Popper.

Community and economic development committee: Popper, chairman; Baldacci, Sullivan. Meetings at 5 p.m. on the first and third Wednesdays of the month at City Hall.

Committee on alternative revenue sources: Popper, Sullivan, Woodcock.

County budget committee: Popper, Tyler.

Economic development advisory committee: Soucy, Tyler, Woodcock. Meetings at 4 p.m. the first Thursday of the month at City Hall.

Finance committee: Blanchette, chairwoman; Leen, Popper, Soucy, Tyler. Meetings at 5 p.m. on the first and third Mondays of the month at City Hall. When Monday is a holiday, the meeting is often moved to 6 p.m. Tuesday.

Municipal operations committee: Leen, chairman; Blanchette, Woodcock. Meetings at 5 p.m. the first and third Tuesdays of the month at City Hall.

Parks and recreation advisory committee: Blanchette. Meetings at 4 p.m. the first Monday of the month at the Bangor Armory on Main Street.

Recycling committee: Tyler, chairman; Soucy, Sullivan. Meetings at 6:30 p.m. one Wednesday a month at City Hall.

Special budget committee: Leen, Tyler.

Appointments made by the City Council are:

Maine Municipal Association legislative policy committee: Blanchette, Popper.

Penobscot Valley Regional Solid Waste: Popper.

Other appointments are:

Bangor Area Target Development Corp.: Soucy.

Harbor committee: Blanchette. Meetings at 7 p.m. the first Tuesday of the month.
