Kenniston powers Tigers to victory

ROCKLAND – Jody Kenniston lit up the scoreboard for 28 points and ripped down 13 rebounds to lead the Rockland Tigers to a 52-36 schoolgirl basketball victory over the Mount View Mustangs in a battle of unbeaten teams Friday night.

Emily Gushee chipped in 10 points for the winners.

Amanda Hayes led Mount View of Thorndike by tossing in 12 points.

At Howland, Jennie Neal scored a game-high 13 points and also hauled down 13 rebounds to pace Penobscot Valley to its win over Bangor Christian.

Heidi Milton had 10 points for PVHS and Keri Magoon contributed eight points and nine steals.

PVHS held Bangor Christian to only four fourth-quarter points thanks to an aggressive match-up zone.

Megan Brewster had nine points for Bangor Christian with Trish Matula and Heidi Niles adding eight apiece.

Kara Henderson paced the way for GSA with a game-high 20 points. Dirdre Disney-Howie added 11 points.
