SANFORD — A woman who disappeared after allegedly leaving her 3-year-old son in a freezing cold car for hours outside a Sanford social club a month ago has been tracked down by police.
Jewel James of Berwick was issued a summons Wednesday charging her with endangering the welfare of a child.
Police on several occasions had attempted to serve the paperwork on her, but she was never at home.
Police found the boy crying in a car outside the Wolves Club, where he allegedly had been left for more than two hours in about 10-degree weather on the night of Dec. 9.
