Records: Maine 15-3-3; Clarkson 10-5-2
Series: Maine leads 5-4-1
Key players: Maine – C Tim Lovell (13 goals, 13 assists), D Jeff Tory (2 & 19), C Brad Purdie (6 & 13), D Brett Clark (4 & 14), LW Scott Parmentier (7 & 10), G Blair Allison (11-3-3 record, 2.83 goals-against average, .892 save percentage); Clarkson – C Todd White (14 & 18), C Chris Lipsett (6 & 11), C Dave Seitz (11 & 4), LW Steve Palmer (5 & 10), D Matt Pagnutti (4 & 7), G Dan Murphy (10-5-2, 2.87, .904)
Outlook: Maine is 10-0-1 in its last 11 while Clarkson had been 10-0-2 until losing at Colgate and Cornell last weekend. Maine is 4-0-1 in its last five games against the Knights. Clarkson graduated its top four scorers off last year’s team, but has compensated with balanced scoring. Parmentier has a six-game, point-scoring streak (3 goals, 5 assists) and Lovell has a five-game streak (5 & 6). Clarkson is a good offensive team and Maine will have to continue to play airtight defense. Maine’s power play has been on a roll, going 4-for-7 against UMass after a 16-for-46 showing on a six-game exhibition tour of Canadian colleges.
