CARIBOU — Philip R. Bosse has been named executive director of the Caribou Chamber of Commerce.

Bosse, who resides in Caribou and has a business, Mementos Inc., a hobby shop on Sweden Street, will start his new duties on Jan. 22.

He plans to cut back his store hours after he takes his new position in order to make himself available to people who don’t know him and his philosophies.

“I want to get to know them and talk about projects they have in mind and start moving ahead,” said Bosse. “I think that to make progress in the County, the chambers all have to work together.”

After Jan. 22, Bosse’s popular hobby store, which was open seven days a week, will be open on evenings and Saturday and Sunday until he makes other arrangements.

Bosse graduated from the University of Maine with a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering, received on-the-job managerial training from the Association of General Contractors and has 25 years of business management experience.

He has served as president, vice president and director of the chamber and president of the Holy Rosary Church Council. He is one of four founders of the Aroostook County Harley Owners Group; a notary public and treasurer of the local Knights of Columbus, Council 1870.

He and his wife Denise have two children, Matthew and Jeannine.
