BANGOR – Matthew Fine has been named the new sports director at WLBZ Channel 2, according to News Director Michael O’Neil.
O’Neil announced his decision Wednesday, and said Fine, who has been working as a news reporter at WLBZ for the last nine months, will begin anchoring sports on Monday, Jan. 22.
“Matthew is capable of doing a fantastic job for us,” said O’Neil. “He has proven in the last nine months at Channel 2 what kind of a reporter he is.”
In addition to his duties as news reporter for Channel 2, Fine was also part of the station’s Fifth Quarter team this past fall, helping with the Friday night high school football coverage.
