The University of New England Knights of Biddeford made a successful trip north over the weekend when they beat Maine Maritime Academy on Sunday 72-65 and Husson College on Saturday 101-94.
At Castine on Sunday, Aaron McDonald scored 35 points and grabbed 10 rebounds to lead the University of New England past Mariners.
Rob Cooper grabbed 14 boards and scored seven points, and Chris Kumka had 10 points in the win.
For Maine Maritime Academy, Jack Kelly sank four 3-pointers on his way to 22 points. Chris Beeler led the way on rebounds with 13 and six points, and Jim Morse added 10 rebounds and eight points.
In Bangor on Saturday, UNE picked up the win behind McDonald.
He nailed nine 3-pointers and scored 42 points. Kumka added 17 points, while Cooper tossed in 15 and Lenny Cole had 13.
Senior Bryan Jefferson scored 36 points, including his 1,000th, for the Braves. Chris Funk pitched in with 16, while Rick Sinclair and Mike MacCaffrey added 15 each.

UMM beats UMFK, loses to UMPI
At Machias, Jagos Medenica scored a game-high 36 points as the University of Maine-Machias posted the upset with an 86-85 win over the University of Maine-Fort Kent Sunday.
Barry Shramban tossed in 17 for the winners.
For UM-Fort Kent, Anthony Jarrett hit for 21, including five 3-pointers, Scott Richardson tossed in 19 and Neptune Cordona added 18.
On Saturday, the UM-Presque Isle Owls beat up the Clippers 87-60.
Hakan Folin scored a game-high 17 points as the Owls picked up the easy win.
Willie Rivera notched 16 points and grabbed 10 rebounds, Pierre Michaud tossed in 15, Glenn Sharp had 14 and Simon Mitchell had eight assists for UMPI.
