PRESQUE ISLE — An Aroostook County deputy sheriff has received the American Legion Law Enforcement Certificate of Meritorious Service.

Michael Bouchard of the Aroostook County Sheriff’s Department received the award for his outstanding performance of duties as a law enforcement officer for the county and the state. The award was made during the recent American Legion’s midwinter conference in Bangor.

Bouchard has been with the Sheriff’s Department for six years and serves in the St. John Valley area.

His name will be submitted to the national headquarters for consideration for the American Legion’s national award.
