BREWER — The planning board has approved three new business projects.

City Planner Thomas Kurth said that representatives from Civil Engineering Services of Brewer, on behalf of Fransway Realty Trust, presented a site plan to locate a 6,628-square-foot medical office with attendant parking at Twin City Plaza.

Civil Engineering Services also presented a site plan for Atlantic Investments Inc. to add 8,400 square feet to accommodate a retail sales and business office at 480 Wilson St.

Kurth said the business now houses a Varney Auto Parts and Hardware store. When renovations are completed, the building will house an Aubuchon Hardware store and Varney’s Insurance Services, and another small business, yet to be named.

Board members’s concerns Monday night dealing with curb cuts, landscaping and traffic circulation were resolved.

The board also approved a preliminary subdivision review for a 19-lot single-family residential subdivsion by Deer Run Estates. The subdivision will be located on Chamberlain Street, between 44 and 52 Eastern Ave.

The owners of the subdivision will have to return to the board for final review of the plans, standard procedure for most subdivision proposals, said Kurth.
