The Aroostook Medical Center has announced that Dr. MOMEN EL NESR has been named to the hospital’s active medical staff. As medical director for the hospital’s psychiatric services, El Nesr will be located at Community General Hospital in Fort Fairfield. He completed residences at Cairo University, the Caring Cross and Westminster Training Program in England and at the Medical College of Pennsylvania.

AMY STEVENS has joined Cary Medical Center in Caribou as an occupational therapist. She earned her degree in occupational therapy from the University of New England in 1995 and completed clinical rotations at the Houlton Regional Hospital and with the Aroostook Medical Center.

PETER L. MARSHALL has been appointed chief financial officer of Houlton Regional Hospital. He holds a master’s degree in business with a concentration on health care management from Husson College in Bangor. Prior to joining the Houlton Hospital, Marshall had been CFO at Northern Cumberland Memorial Hospital in Bridgeton. He has also served as CFO and vice president of finance at Lake Shore Hospital in Manchester, N.H. and was assistant controller at New England Deaconess Hospital in Boston.

GERVAIS THERIAULT has been promoted to assistant vice president of Peoples Heritage Bank and serving as banking center manager at the Caribou branch. He joined Peoples heritage last year and has eight years of banking experience. He is a resident of Caribou and a member of the ACAP Job Start Program, the Caribou Rotary Club and the Caribou Board of Appeals.

TROY LAPLANTE has joined the Cary Rehabilitation Team at Cary Medical Center. He earned his occupational therapy degree last year from the University of New England and completed his clinical rotations at Exeter Hospital in New Hampshire and at Togus Veterans Hospital.

KEVIN J. FRAZIER has been appointed accounting manager for the University of Maine Foundation. Prior to joining the foundation, Frazier spent 12 years in public accounting for the Bangor-based firm of Loiselle & Beatham and the firm Brooks & Carter. He spent the last eight years with Tate-Fitch, another accounting firm. Frazier is a graduate of Presque Isle High School and received a bachelor’s degree in accounting from Husson College in Bangor.

ROBERT E. MITCHELL has been elected to the firms partner in training program at Schatz, Fletcher & Associates and will become a partner in the Waterville based accounting firm. He joined the company in 1989 as a staff accountant and was later promoted to accounting and audit manager. Mitchell is involved as a range of accounting services, specializing in nonprofit organizations.
