DOVER-FOXCROFT — Members of 4-H in the Wild Mustangs Club will sponsor a bottle drive in Dover-Foxcroft on Saturday, April 13, to raise funds to send two club members to Washington, D.C., in July.
Maine delegates Mary-Beth Flanders and Kris Garneau will represent Piscataquis County at the Citizenship Washington Focus Conference, a weeklong adventure that teaches teens about their citizenship responsibilities. Delegates stay at the National 4-H Center while attending field trips into Washington, D.C., and learning sessions at the Center.
During the week, the delegates role-play being senators, city council members and other decision-making roles to see how the issues become bills and how bills become laws.
Anyone wanting to help in the fund raising or make a donation can contact Linda Whitten or Donna Lamb at 564-3301 or 1-800-287-1491.
