STANDISH – St. Joseph’s College struck for six runs in the sixth inning to snap a 2-2 tie and pull ahead for a 12-8 men’s college baseball win against Husson College at Ward Field Friday.
Bob Quintal, Keith Wood and Tom Watson each homered for St. Joseph’s. Watson added two singles and Todd Spencer hit a two-run single.
For Husson, Justin Shaw and Matt Alaimo each had two hits.

St. Joe’s wins two
At Standish, the Monk’s rallied from a 1-0 deficit with two runs in the fourth inning of game one to earn the victory 3-1. The Monk’s put up eight runs in game two to complete the sweep of the Owls 8-2.
In game one, Lisa Pichaske had two hits and Angela Paolini drove in two runs for the winners. Kellee Murphy struck out eight batters to pick up her first win of the year.
Deb Nakamura and Heather Brewer had two hits apiece for UMPI.
In game two, Cindy Kamszik had four hits and pitched a complete game for St. Joseph’s.
Kamszik ripped a three-run triple in the fourth inning and struck out six UMPI batters to earn her sixth consecutive victory. Lisa Pichaske added an RBI double in the sixth.
Marcie Burr and Jennifer Boyd had a pair of hits for the Owls.
