Lawmaker from Guilford seeks House re-election

GUILFORD — Sen. Stephen E. Hall, R-Guilford, has announced he will seek re-election to the Maine Senate in District 8.

Hall said he supported the state income tax cap, repeal of the hospital “sick tax,” and of the nursing home tax, all enacted by the 117th Legislature. He also voted against mandates to schools and towns and fought to restore equity in state aid to schools, he said.

Hall was Senate chairman of the Joint Standing Committee on Inland Fisheries and Wildlife and was a member of the Joint Standing Committee on Criminal Justice.
