SIDNEY — A one-car crash on Interstate 95 left one woman dead and three other people injured, state police said.

Driver Joseph Sawlivich, 64, of Sidney lost control in the southbound lane near the Densmore Road overpass. The car veered across the southbound lane, bounced off the left guardrail, careened back across the highway and bounced off the right guardrail before coming to rest, police said.

Evelyn Hurd, 85, of Sidney, was killed. She was riding in the front passenger seat, said state police Sgt. Michael Heino.

The car did not appear to be speeding, and investigators could not immediately determine why the driver lost control, Heino said.
