CALAIS – Mike Weston’s sixth-inning, bases-loaded grounder drove in Houlton’s winning run in a 5-3 schoolboy baseball victory against Calais Tuesday. Weston added a double, and Andy Wright led Houlton’s hitters with a double and two singles. Lucas Ritchie had a single and double.

CALAIS – Mike Weston’s sixth-inning, bases-loaded grounder drove in Houlton’s winning run in a 5-3 schoolboy baseball victory against Calais Tuesday.

Weston added a double, and Andy Wright led Houlton’s hitters with a double and two singles. Lucas Ritchie had a single and double.

Joey Craig finished with two singles, a double and an RBI, and Chris Rohde cranked out two singles and a double for Calais. Aaron Kneeland added a single, double, and two RBIs.

At Dyer Brook, Jeremy White knocked in four runs on a single and two doubles to lift the Hawks past the Warriors.

Gerry Welton belted a solo home run and a double for the winners. Evan Clark and Adam Carter chipped in two singles apiece.

Matt McGarry and Jeremiah Gordon each hit a two-run single for Southern Aroostook of Dyer Brook. Marc Philibert added a single and a double.

At Ashland, Ryan Guerrette’s two-run single in the middle of an eight-run, eighth-inning outburst scored the game-winning run for Central Aroostook of Mars Hill.

Matt Townsend paced the Panthers’ offense with a triple, double, two singles and four RBIs. Chad Boyd hit a triple, double, single for one RBI. Orser tripled and singled. Todd Nelson pitched the final two innings for the win.

Chad Cyr, who had three singles and two RBIs, flared a two-run single to left with two outs in the seventh to send the game into extra innings. Darren Belskis had two singles and an RBI, and Lee Bennett doubled and singled.

At Ashland, the Hornets used 11 hits and 13 Central Aroostook errors to cruise to the victory.

Alicia Nason went the distance striking out seven and walking only three. Nason and Denise Dumond both doubled, Tracy Devoe singled twice and Erin Soucy had a single and six RBIs.

Emily Lalone had a two-run single for Central Aroostook.

At Calais, a 12-run fifth inning and rain shortened the Blue Devils’ romp to the win.

Kelly Dow struck out eight and didn’t give up a walk, while helping her own cause with a home run, two singles and an RBI. Jodi Duvall stroked an RBI-triple, Sarah Currier knocked out two singles and an RBI, and Jess Crossman had a single and drove in three runs. Katie MacMannis had a single and two RBIs.

For Houlton, Jen Noonan cranked an RBI-double, and Erin Upton and Tracie Blake each singled.

At Dyer Brook, the Hawks’ late-inning attack was too much for the Warriors.

Amanda Kubeck led the Warriors attack with four singles and three RBIs, and Wendy Ivey drove in three runs with a double and single. Sarah Stewart finished with a double, single, and two RBIs.

Janna Walker stroked a home run, triple, two singles and two RBIs for Southern Aroostook of Dyer Brook. Shay Fox added three singes and three RBIs.
