FRANKLIN — Danial R. Smith of Franklin has announced he will seek election as an unenrolled candidate for House District 131, Addison, Cherryfield, Columbia, Franklin, Harrington, Milbridge, Steuben, Sullivan, and Townships 7, 9 and 10.

Smith was raised in Franklin and attended Sumner High School, Class of 1979, the University of Maine at Farmington, Class of 1984, and received a paralegal certificate from Beal College. He has worked at Eastern Maine Technical College, the University of Maine at Farmington and is employed at Pat’s Pizza, Ellsworth.

Smith said he supports new and expanded small and medium businesses and increased funding for local schools to enhance their technical standards.
