EAST SULLIVAN – Ryan Deredin pitched a three-hitter, struck out 14, and walked two to lead Searsport to the 5-2 schoolboy baseball victory against Sumner of East Sullivan Monday.

Paul Rybaroyk doubled, singled, and drove in two runs to pace the Vikings’ offense. Dustin Nadeau singled twice.

Dave Seward had a double to pace Sumner.

At Newport, Bruce Boyington stroked a two-run single in the top of the eighth inning to give Old Town the victory.

Jon Thomas had a double and two singles while Boyington had two singles to lead the Indians.

Matt Bagley singled three times, Jason Allen singled twice and Jerrid Otis doubled for Nokomis.

At Milo, Ed Houston had a double, two singles, and three RBIs to help lead Central of East Corinth to the win.

The two teams combined for 15 errors and 14 runs, only one of which was earned.

Peter Speed and Geremy Seifert each singled twice for Central.

Rick Melanson had two singles and an RBI for the Patriots.

At Rockland, Mike Tolman singled, stole second and road home on a single by Cam Brown as the Tigers pulled out the win.

Brown’s single was his third of the the game while Tolman’s was his second. Mike Robichaud had a single and a double for Rockalnd.

Chad Larrabee stroked a single and a double, Joey Holmes had two doubles and Dickie Gould singled twice.

DI-Stonington sweeps BC

At Deer Isle, the Mariners of Deer Isle-Stonington took two, 8-4 and 11-4, from Bangor Christian in a doubleheader.

In the first game, Shawn Webb fashioned a six-hitter and struck out six to carry the Mariners.

Steven Bye hit a home run and singled to pace Deer Isle-Stonington at the plate. Ben Barrows and Dustin Field each hit two singles while Joey Cobb doubled.

For the Patriots, Gabe Perrow hit two singles and Don Martin hit a double.

In the second game, the Mariners used a seven-run third inning to put away the Patriots.

Jeremiah Gray led DI-S with a home run and two singles. Barrows, Bye and Josh Weed each added two singles.

Chris Schroeher cranked a three-run homer for Bangor Christian. Don Martin stroked two singles and a double and Ryan Mick had two singles.

At Blue Hill, Tim Pert hit a one-runsingle in the bottom of the seventh inning to drive in Josh Sadlier for the game-winner as George Stevens Academy protected its perfect record.

Sadlier, Dave Rackliffe and Kevin Neal each had three hits and three RBIs for GSA.

For Mount Desert Island, Jerry Burnes hit two singles and a double. Matt Clark and Steve Salyer added two hits each.

At Winslow, Mark Gunning picked up his third win of the season, striking out 13 batters in six strong innings for Winslow.

Donny Couture led the offense with a double, home run and a single. Jared Vigue, Erik Gunning and Randy Loubier all had two singles for the winners.

Brian Hetherman notched three singles and Nick Lowe two singles for Maine Central Institute of Pittsfield.
