Brown powers Presque Isle

FORT KENT – Brandy Brown blasted a grand slam, two singles, and a double to power the Presque Isle Wildcats to a 21-4 schoolgirl softball win over the Fort Kent Warriors Wednesday.

Nicole Gamblin ripped two doubles and two singles and Kim Condon chipped in three singles and a double for Presque Isle.

Amy Levesque had two singles to pace Fort Kent as Patty Plourde added a double and a single.

At Machias, Kristi Carver and Tammie Beal combined to no-hit the Bulldogs. The duo struck out seven and walked 15 in the effort.

Courtney Bryant drove in four runs on four singles for the winners. Jan Beal and Rachel Beal chipped in two singles apiece.

At Van Buren, the Tigers scored seven runs in the first inning as they cruised to the win.

Sarah Nason led the offense with two singles, a double and a three-run home run. Melina Mraz had a triple, double and two singles while Devon Jewitt had a double and a triple.

Van Buren was led by Morgan Parent’s single and triple, Vicky Cyr had a double and a single and Michelle Sirois had two singles for the Crusaders.

At Calais, pitcher Kelly Dow fired a one-hitter, striking out 10 and walking two to help the Blue Devils to the win.

Dow helped herself with the bat, ripping three singles and Jodi Duvall also had three singles. Heather Farrell belted a two-run home run, a triple and a single for the winners.

Lindsay Smith had the lone single for the Knights.

At Dyer Brook, Kristen Swallow plated two runs on doubles as the Warriors blanked the Panthers.

Shay Fox added three RBIs and two singles for the winners and Suzanne Greenlaw also chipped in two singles.

Spring Hewitt rapped two singles for Central Aroostook of Mars Hill.

At Limestone, Kelly Hartman’s double plated Laurie Lavoie for the game-winning run as the Eagles flew past the Owls.

Hartman finished the day with two doubles and two RBIs, Kristy Cannon ripped three singles, and Kris Harvey chipped in a double and a single for the winners.

Michele Hebert blasted a two-run home run and a single to pace Madawsaka.

At Pittsfield, Meg Gordon rapped an RBI triple and two singles as Winslow remained unbeaten.

Abby White hit a two-run home run and a single, and Amy Ferron stroked a triple and a single for the Black Raiders behind winner Meagan White, who struck out four.

Kylie Berry paced Maine Central Institute of Pittsfield with a triple and a single, while Hannah Andrews delivered a double and a single. Amy Long singled twice.

At Ellsworth, Lyndsy Patten had an RBI single, scoring Joni Pinkham in the bottom of the ninth inning to give the Eagles the win.

Pinkham had a single and a triple while Patten had two singl Pinkham had a single and a triple while Patten had two singles to lead Ellsworth.

Michelle Bossy drove in Amy Reynolds with a sacrifce fly in the fifth inning to tie the game at two. Katie Calligan singled twice for the Hawks.

At Deer Isle, Joselyn Brenton gave up just one hit in five innings as the Tigers handled the Mariners.

Dara Glass, Amy Stevens and Brenton each had two singles to pace the Tigers’.

Becky Pilling had the only Mariners hit, an RBI single in the second inning.

At Milo, Erin Weston slammed two triples, knocked a single and drove in five runs to power Penquis.

Amanda Haskell also had triple as well as two singles and four RBIs while Annie Gray knocked a double and single for three RBIs for the the Patriots. Kerri Russell gave up just four hits to earn the win.

Lee got one base hit from Renai Hayes, Shanonn Cole, Tanya Mushero and Steph Thurlow.

At Dexter, the Trojans scored four runs in the sixth inning and then held off a Dexter rally in the seventh to post the win.

Jodie Damon had three singles, Brianne Barker had a single and double and Shelagh Slack hit two singles for Mount Desert Island.

Amanda Cobb had a double and a triple while Tara Gokas had a single, double and a triple for Dexter.

At Belfast, Liz Kelley had two base hits and three RBIs as the Lions took an early lead that held.

Monica Bryand also had two singles and Christine Lesan had a single and a double for Belfast.

Meaghan Vaugan gave up eight hits and struck out four to earn the win.

Rockland’s Liz Cunninellow and Glorigane Tootill had a double apiece and Erin Stephans added two singles.

At Millinocket, the Minutemen took advantage of five Orono walks in the bottom of the sixth inning for two runs and the win.

Cara Moir drove in two runs on a double and Jeanne Marquis and Lisa Santerre added two singles apiece for Stearns of Millinocket.

Tyra Gettleman, Heather Dekanich, and Jess Libby each rapped two singles apiece to pace the Red Riots.

At Old Town, Jessie Poulin scattered seven hits and walked just one as four from Hampden had base hits.

Meaghan Taylor, Sarah Trask, Melissa Albert and Leah Wentworth all had singles and Taylor drove in one run.

Kalina Cuarisman had two base hits for Old Town.

At Blue Hill, Anglea Lavin scored on a two-out single by Katie McFadden in the top half of the seventh inning to give Searsport the schoolgirl win.

McFadden led the Vikings with two singles and pitcher Sarah Webster also added two singles to pick up the win. Webster struckout nine and allowed one walk.

Sara Haney belted a solo home run to pace the George Stevens Academy of Blue Hill. Darcy Snow chipped in an RBI-triple.

At Thorndike, Holly Lidstone’s sacrifice fly scored Megan Williams in the bottom of the sixth inning lifted the Mustangs over the Windjammers.

Shannon Cross had two singles for the winners and Kristy Fuller chipped in a double and a single. Michelle Ludden picked up the win firing a three-hitter, striking out six and walking four.

Sami Hibbard paced Camden-Rockport with two singles and Nellie Peck added a single.
