University of Maine junior catcher-first baseman John Ellis was drafted in the 20th round by the Texas Rangers, according to Black Bear Coach John Winkin.

Ellis, son of former major league catcher John Ellis, hit .293 for Maine this past season with three homers, nine doubles and 27 runs batted in.
