ALBANY, N.Y. – The Albany Diamond Dogs scored three runs in the first inning to hand the Bangor Blue Ox their first-ever loss in Northeast League action at Heritage Park Friday night.

Ron Lockett paced the Dogs with two doubles and two RBIs and Terrance McDaniel slammed a two-run double. Rafael Mercado chipped in with two singles.

The Dogs reached Ox starter and loser Jamie Davis for seven hits and three runs. Davis, who won his first game, is now 1-1 while the Ox are 3-1.

Ed Riley notched the win for the Dogs and is now 2-0. He is the only pitcher in the league with two wins as Albany evened its mark to 3-3.

Gerald Davis slapped two singles for the Blue Ox and former Brewer High star Chad White laced a double. However, the Ox stranded eight runners and three Dog pitchers combined for 10 strikeouts.
