Cyr, in scouting since he joined the Tiger Cubs in 1987, acquired Cub Scouting’s highest rank, Arrow of Light, in 1989. He is a member of the Boy Scout Order of the Arrow.

During his scouting years, Cyr acquired the Parvuli Dei, Ad Altare Dei and Pope Pius religious awards.
