Mike Baker, assistant pro at Bangor Municipal Golf Course, beat Kirk Hanefeld, assistant at Salem Country Club in Peabody, Mass., to win the third Boys and Girls Clubs of Nantucket Pro-Am golf tournament Monday.
Baker and Hanefeld tied at 2-under-par 70, and Baker earned the $2,000 top prize and crystal trophy by winning on the first hole of a sudden-death playoff.
The tournament, which attracted such celebrity amateurs as Carlton Fisk, Bobby Orr, and Derek Sanderson, was scored by taking the best two scores out of four on each hole. Baker’s team finished tied for second net at 132.
