WATERVILLE – Kevin Whitmore recently was named assistant men’s basketball coach at Colby College.

The 1991 Colby graduate replaces Gerald McDowell, who left Colby to become head coach of men’s basketball at Wesleyan University.

Whitmore, son of Colby men’s basketball head coach Dick Whitmore, was the New England Division III Player of the Year, and is ranked 10th on the school’s scoring list with 1,347 career points.

He previously served as an assistant coach at Holy Cross and Maine.
