AUGUSTA – The Augusta City Council was considering a proposal Monday to bring back the Augusta Millionaires minor league baseball team after a 40-year absence.
The city council was expected to consider entering a formal relationship with contractor Paul Rodrigue and Mark Reilly, a Pennsylvania-based lawyer who shares Rodrigue’s enthusiasm for minor league baseball. St. Peter said he hopes the team can start next season and wants a decision made soon to allow time to plan the team’s management, roster, and playing schedule.
