Old Town, Bangor West earn wins

Old Town used a 19-hit attack to down Bangor East 22-3 in District 3 Little League Softball action in the 11-12 year-old division Wednesday.

Bangor West defeated Machias 21-8 in Wednesday’s other game.

Sunrise and Bangor East will square off Thursday with the winner playing Machias Friday. Old Town will play Bangor West on Friday.

At Old Town, Sarah Metivier tossed a no-hitter as Old Town defeated Bangor East.

Jamie Higgins, Jessica Paul and Jillian Ouellette each had three singles to pace Old Town. Heather McLaughlin doubled for the winners.

At Machias, Cara Oleksyk socked three singels and a double as Bangor West defeated Machias.

Rachel Dube added a triple and double while Megan Clifford doubled for the winners.

Sarah Nurse and Leanne Pritchard each singled for Machias.
