Augusta East stops Portland North 10-7

OLD TOWN – Courtney Clark knocked in four runs with a pair of singles to help propel unbeaten Augusta East to a 10-7 victory over Portland North Monday in the Little League Softball State Tournament at Old Town High School.

Bangor earned a 1-0 forfeit victory Monday over Knox Suburban, which could not field a full squad. Bangor faces Portland North in Tuesday’s 5:30 p.m. elimination game for the right to meet Augusta East on Wednesday.

Mallory Nutting singled and had two RBIs for the winners behind Amanda Lapointe and Jordan Pruett, who combined on a four-hitter. Kellie Menario provided an RBI single for Portland North.
