Recently my husband and I stopped at a grocery store in the Cherryfield area. As we left the store, we saw some people beside a van. They were eating and throwing their garbage — food, paper, and plastic — on the grass.

My husband very politely told them that probably someone in the store would give them a plastic carry-out bag to put their garbage in so they wouldn’t have to throw it on the ground. Their response was rude and obscene.
