We hear a lot these days about the high cost of health care and the high price of medications.
Just recently my husband came home from the hospital to spend his final days with his family.
My main concern is why a doctor would prescribe medications for a month at a price of nearly $500 to a patient he knew would not possibly live beyond a few days. Couldn’t a prescription be written for just a small amount with a refill if needed?
Sometimes it seems that the doctors do not realize the costs to the patient and the families.
It’s no wonder our health care system is in trouble.
If you have a loved one who is very ill, my message is, buyer beware. Check at your drugstore for prescription prices before filling them. Doris Davis Bucksport
