HERMON – Pole-sitter Jon Austin continued to dominate the opposition at Speedway 95, leading the entire race to post another Late Model Sportsman win.

Lee wins Coca-Cola Classic

At Unity Raceway, Matt Lee of Albion won the 75-lap Late Model Pro-Stock Coca-Cola Classic at Unity Raceway Saturday night after a spectacular, seven-car crash halted the race after 13 laps were complete.

No one was injured in the melee which was triggered by a stream of oil and water from a blown engine in race leader Jeff Burgess’ Camaro.

Four cars, including Lee’s Steego/EJP Chevrolet, were able to continue the race after repairs. Lee overtook Mike Brown of Union on lap 35 to clinch his sixth win of the year and a sweep of the two-race Coca-Cola Pro-Stock Series. Chris Stanley of Skowhegan took runner-up honors, followed by Travis Benjamin of Belfast, Tim Turner of Freedom and George Fernald Jr. of Benton.

Drew posts second win

At Oxford Plains Speedway, Gary Drew of Windham survived a wild 11th lap restart to post his second Pro Stock win of the year.

Drew got tangled up with Benji Rowe on the 11th lap and it resulted in an 18-car pileup.

Rowe finished second, followed by David Pinkham.

At Wiscasset Raceway, Shawn Kimball of Pittston dominated the Lite-Weight 50 lap special.

Peter Melanson captured the win in the Pro Stock event.
